It seems in the animal shelters they run that average percentage of animals put down is 85% This also comes on the nipping at the heels arrest at one 'shelter' of two employees for dumping 31 dog carcasses in a dumpster.

The neighbors have two vicious dogs that would probably kill our cats if they ever got loose and had the chance.

I'd fucking kill those dogs if anything happened to our pets.

If anyone ever gets the chance, watch Penn & Teller's Bullshit. In season 2 they do an episode on Peta. Peta puts down a lot of animals... in walk in freezers.

i despise our animal shelters here..... ya know the point is to get people to adopt these stray animals but when they have the prices so damn high people can't afford to do it.... and then they bitch all the time about not having any money.... how the hell is that possible... the shelters are INSANE!! i always suggest people take them to the vets... most the ones here will adopt them out from their office.

Not meaning to stick up for PETA or anything but....what the hell else are they suppose to do with them? As long as they're ethical in the ways they burn, mutilate and slaughter the animals, I'm okay with it.

I agree... the percentage may seem freakishly high but I'm willing to bet 85% of the animals PETA takes in are abused beyond help and most likely need to be put down.

And here's a last thought...

Animal shelters would not need to exist if everybody spayed or neutered their pets, if puppy/cat mills didn't exist and if there weren't so many useless sacks of shit for human beings in the world.
